Records

UMWF records require the following criteria: ​​​

1. Competition athletes shall be subject to random drug testing for substances on the full WADA Prohibited List. Testing must go beyond using a WADA-accredited lab; it must meet UMWF standards for sample collection and analysis. This distinction is critical.

2. Three IWF Category 1 or 2 referees shall adjudicate each athlete’s lifts.

3. A jury of three IWF Category 1 referees shall be present during the athlete’s session.

4. Records in the new IWF bodyweight categories may not be set before 1 June 2025. Archived records may still be recognised if they meet the criteria outlined in points 1–3. Supporting documentation is required.
